What you’ll do
Your own deep-sea expedition
A real ocean in your pocket: real physics, real places at their real coordinates and more than 150 real species — from coral-reef fish to the strange giants of the deep.

Choose your submarine
In the Hangar, pick one of two subs based on real deep-sea submersibles, then a dive site and a mission. Switch on More encounters for a busy ocean — or keep it realistically sparse.

Pilot it yourself
Steer with the joystick, trim your ballast and switch between cockpit and chase cameras. Your HUD shows depth, pressure, temperature, light, speed, battery, O₂ and heading.

Survive the deep
Watch out for crush depth, low battery or oxygen, strong currents, collisions and getting tangled in kelp or nets — and never disturb protected animals. Below 200 m, switch on your floodlights.

Scan creatures to add them to your Discovery log. Locked silhouettes show who is still out there, waiting to be found.

Every dive runs on real physics. Pressure, light, temperature and buoyancy change with depth just like they do in the real ocean.

Water swallows red light first. A few metres down it fades, and by 10–15 m it’s almost gone — that’s why the deep looks blue.

Below about 200 m there isn’t enough sunlight for algae to grow. Time to switch on your floodlights.

Black smoker water

Vent water can be hotter than 350 °C, yet the huge pressure stops it from boiling. Most of the deep sea is colder than 4 °C.

ρ is the density of seawater, g is gravity and h is the depth. The game uses this same formula for every metre of your dive.

How much does Super Ocean cost?
The iOS and Android apps are free to download. The free version includes two dive sites (the Great Barrier Reef and Monterey Canyon), the first missions and the first three lessons.
One optional in-app purchase, Unlock everything, costs 2.99 USD (or the equivalent in your currency) and unlocks all 10 dive sites, all missions and all 8 lessons. You pay once — there is no subscription. The web version is completely free, with no purchases at all.
Is it safe for kids? What data do you collect?
Yes — it was made for kids and families. There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking, no accounts and no third-party SDKs, and we don’t collect any personal data. Game progress and settings are stored only on your device. A parental gate appears before any purchase. The details are in our privacy policy.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once installed, the iOS and Android apps work without an internet connection — great for car trips and flights. The web version needs a connection to load, and then runs right in your browser.
What age is it for?
Super Ocean is designed for curious kids aged 8 and up — and for grown-ups who love the ocean. Younger children can have fun diving together with a parent. The lessons and quizzes involve some reading.

How accurate is the science?
Accuracy is the whole point. The game uses real physics — pressure (P = 1 atm + ρgh, with seawater at 1,025 kg/m³), light that fades with depth (red first), temperature and buoyancy. The 10 dive sites are real places at their real coordinates, and the 150+ species are real animals with their real depth ranges and IUCN Red List status. The Titanic site is treated as a memorial: the wreck is only shown as a respectful silhouette.
