Privacy policy
Your privacy in Super Ocean
Super Ocean is an educational ocean game for kids and families. We built it so that it doesn’t need to know anything about you. This policy explains, in plain language, how that works for the Super Ocean apps for iOS and Android, the web version of the game and this website.
The short version
- We don’t collect any personal data. None.
- No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party SDKs.
- Your game progress and settings stay on your device.
- Purchases are handled by Apple or Google — we never see your payment details.
- This website sets no cookies and loads nothing from other companies.
For kids: Super Ocean never asks who you are and doesn’t send anything about you to anyone. If you want to buy something in the app, ask a grown-up first.
1. Who we are
Super Ocean is made by ISEMI COMPANY LIMITED (“we”, “us”). This policy covers:
- the Super Ocean apps for iPhone, iPad and Android (“the apps”);
- the web version of the game at https://exploreocean.app/app/ (“the web version”);
- this website at https://exploreocean.app (“the website”).
2. What we collect
Nothing personal. We don’t collect, store, share or sell personal data. In particular, we don’t collect:
- names, email addresses, phone numbers or postal addresses;
- your location (precise or approximate);
- contacts, photos or other content from your device;
- device identifiers or advertising IDs;
- usage statistics, analytics or crash reports through our own or third-party tools.
There are no user accounts, no advertising, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party SDKs (software development kits) in the apps or the web version. The apps don’t send your data to us or to anyone else.
3. What stays on your device
To remember your game, Super Ocean saves a small amount of information only on your device: for example your discoveries, completed missions and lessons, quiz results, whether you have unlocked the full game, and settings such as language and sound.
- In the apps, this is kept in the app’s private storage on your phone or tablet.
- In the web version, it is kept in your browser’s local storage for this website.
This information never leaves your device and we can’t see it. To delete it, uninstall the app, or clear this website’s data in your browser settings. If you use your device’s own backup (such as iCloud Backup or Android backup), your game progress may be included in that backup under Apple’s or Google’s terms — we have no access to those backups.
4. “Today in the ocean” and your time zone
The “Today in the ocean” screen shows the moon phase and tide information for one of 72 coastal cities. To pick a city near you, the game looks at your device’s time zone setting — entirely on your device. Super Ocean never asks for location permission, never uses GPS and never sends your time zone anywhere.
5. In-app purchases
The apps offer one optional, one-time purchase, “Unlock everything”. Apple and Google ask the account holder to confirm every purchase (for example with Face ID, a fingerprint or a password), and parents can require their approval with Ask to Buy (Apple) or purchase approvals in Google Play.
- Purchases are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their own terms and privacy policies.
- We never receive your name, email address, payment card or other payment details.
- The store tells the app on your device whether the purchase was made. We don’t run any servers that receive purchase information.
- “Restore purchases” works through your App Store or Google Play account on your device.
The web version has no purchases at all.
6. App stores
When you download the apps, Apple or Google process information about you under their own privacy policies; we don’t control that. Like every developer, we can see aggregated, anonymous statistics from the stores (for example, the number of downloads per country). If you have chosen in your device settings to share diagnostics with app developers, the store may also give us anonymous crash reports. These don’t identify you, and we don’t combine them with any other information.
7. This website
- No cookies. The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking of any kind.
- No third-party requests. All fonts, images and scripts are served from this website itself. We don’t embed videos, maps, social media widgets or ads.
- Hosting. Like any website, it is delivered by a hosting provider. The hosting provider may process technical data — such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request — in server logs, solely to deliver the website and keep it secure. We don’t use this data to identify you, track you or build profiles.
- Links. Links to the App Store or Google Play take you to websites with their own privacy policies.
8. Children’s privacy (COPPA)
Super Ocean is designed for children and families, and we take the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws around the world seriously.
- We do not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
- There are no accounts, no advertising (including behavioural advertising) and no third-party SDKs that could collect data.
- Purchases need the account holder’s confirmation, and parents can require approval with Ask to Buy (Apple) or Google Play’s purchase approvals.
- Because we collect nothing, there is no personal information for a parent to review or delete. Game progress on a device can be deleted by uninstalling the app or clearing the browser’s site data.
Parents and guardians who have questions can reach us as described in Contact.
9. GDPR and UK GDPR
Controller. The developer of Super Ocean is the controller for any personal data processed in connection with the apps and the website. You can contact us as described in Contact.
No processing by us. We don’t collect or otherwise process personal data of people who use the apps or the web version. Game progress stays on your device and never reaches us.
Website hosting. The only personal data involved in visiting the website is the technical data (such as your IP address) that our hosting provider processes on our behalf to deliver the website and protect it from abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing a working and secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and UK GDPR). Server logs are kept only as long as the hosting provider needs them for these purposes. The hosting provider may process this data outside your country; where that happens, it relies on the safeguards required by law, such as standard contractual clauses.
Your rights. You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing and to data portability. We make no automated decisions and do no profiling. Because we hold no personal data about you, we usually can’t find any data to act on, but you are always welcome to ask.
Complaints. You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority — in the EU/EEA, for example the authority in the country where you live or work; in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
10. California (CCPA/CPRA)
- We do not sell or share personal information, as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act. We have not done so in the past 12 months.
- We do not collect personal information from users of the apps or the web version, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information.
- The only category involved is internet or network activity information (such as IP addresses in server logs) processed by our hosting provider, solely to deliver and secure the website.
- You have the right to know, to delete, to correct, to opt out of sale or sharing and to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. Since we neither sell nor share personal information, there is nothing to opt out of; we treat Global Privacy Control signals as a valid opt-out request all the same.
11. International users
Super Ocean works the same way everywhere: your game stays on your device, and we don’t collect personal data in any country. Wherever local privacy laws give you additional rights (for example in Brazil, Canada, Australia or other U.S. states), we respect them in the same spirit as the sections above.
12. Security
Because we don’t collect personal data, there is no user database that could be leaked. The website is served over HTTPS, and the apps work offline without talking to our servers.
13. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will publish the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top. If we ever wanted to collect personal information in the future, we would update this policy first and, where the law requires it (for example verifiable parental consent under COPPA), ask for consent before doing so.
14. Contact
For privacy questions, email us at company@isemi.io.
Parents and guardians: please tell us only what we need to answer you. We use your message only to reply and delete it when the matter is closed.
